The Kreamundo Foundation is proud to announce the recipient of its first Kreamundo Education Grant (KEG)! This grant has been awarded to support the "Creative Economy and Epistemologies of the South" project, developed by the Creative Economy Studies Center (NEC) at the Federal University of Cariri, Brazil.
This project has been carrying out various activities focused on Culture and Sustainability, aiming to co-produce both academic and non-academic knowledge about the Brazilian Creative Economy and epistemologies of the Global South. One of its key efforts is the creation of a digital book, which will compiles stories from cultural collectives and agents, fostering reflections from Global South perspectives.
The project emphasizes that the creative economy, like other economies, is socially constructed, and that local context is essential for understanding different experiences. Its target audience includes managers, people interested in the topic, and non-academic communities, with a special focus on the experiences of cultural collectives in small and medium-sized cities and peripheral regions.
The project is directly connected to culture and creativity, valuing a plurality of perspectives and integrating popular knowledge and cultural contexts. It recognizes and values cultural diversity as a driver of innovation and sustainable development, while promoting an engaged pedagogy that not only trains participants in technical and theoretical aspects but also involves them in the construction of new narratives about the local economy and culture.
The production of a digital book is a creative and educational way to disseminate this knowledge to a wider audience, including both managers and non-academic communities.

The first Kreamundo Education Grant has been awarded to Jeycca Morgana Alencar da Silva, an Administration undergraduate at the Federal University of Cariri and a volunteer on the project. This grant has supported her work and contributed to this important initiative.
The digital book will be made available soon - stay tuned on our social media!
The Kreamundo Foundation is committed to supporting education and looks forward to awarding more Kreamundo Education Grants in the future.
